Even the slightest negligence will prove disastrous, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Monday warned the state officials while reviewing the Covid-19 situation in the state.
Chouhan also asked them to keep a constant vigil on the situation. He directed the officers to ensure the mandatory use of masks in Indore and Bhopal.
In view of the increasing number of Covid-19 patients in the neighbouring state of Maharashtra, Chouhan directed all the district collectors, at the meeting held in Mantralaya on Monday, to test each person entering Madhya Pradesh from that state.
At the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed the district collectors to immediately convene a meeting of the Crisis Management Group in their respective districts and take prompt action regarding precautions in view of the prevailing circumstances at the district-level.
In rural areas of all the districts adjoining Maharashtra, all government teams including the Rural Development Department should start a campaign on activities like prevention of Corona and Roko-Toko.
The Chief Minister said that vigilance and awareness are a must during the fairs held in the state on Shivratri. Mandatory testing of RT PCR should also be considered for participation in the fairs held in districts adjoining Maharashtra.
Chouhan said that a large number of people from Maharashtra attend the Shivratri fairs held at Chhindwara and Betul. The slightest negligence will prove disastrous, he reiterated and said Crisis Management Groups of the districts concerned should hold meetings to take timely decisions regarding organizing the fairs and necessary precautions.

It was informed that there has been an increase in the number of Corona infected people in Kerala and Maharashtra in the country. Madhya Pradesh ranks 9th in the country.
The situation is now under control in Kerala. At the national level where 42 percent of cases are coming daily in Maharashtra and 33 percent in Kerala, only 2 percent of cases are surfacing in Madhya Pradesh.
Additional Chief Secretary Mohammad Suleman said that the state is showing an increase in the number of Corona positive cases since last week. In the last seven days, 110 cases were reported daily in Indore, 57 in Bhopal and 12 cases in Jabalpur.
During this period, 773 cases have been reported in Indore, 397 in Bhopal and 85 in Jabalpur. The cases are also increasing in Betul, Chhindwara, Barwani, Damoh, Sidhi, Ratlam and Khargone.
