Lebron James and Anthony Davis continued their good form, as the dominant Los Angeles Lakers clinched Game 2 from the Miami Heat with a 124-114, to extend their lead to 2-0 in the NBA Finals.
In the Friday night Game 2 of the NBA finals, sixteen time all-star Lebron James led the scoring with 33 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Anthony Davis continued his stellar performance with 32 points and 14 rebounds.
Anthony Davis is now the first LA Lakers player to post 30+ points in their first two career NBA Finals games. Only four players have ever done this in NBA history.
The Lakers seized the early momentum to put up nine three-pointers in the first two quarters for a 14-point head start at halftime.
Miami had struggled to fill the void left by two of their biggest playmakers. The point guard Goran Dragic and forward Bam Adebayo, left Game 1 with injuries and were not able to play on Friday.
The Heat’s All-Star forward Jimmy Butler, who had 25 points and 13 assists, said his teammates “believe in what we do every day,” despite the uphill battle they face in closing a two-game deficit in the best-of-seven series.
LA Lakers and Miami Heat will face each other again for Game 3 on Sunday.
