Another elephant ill; advice of Assam expert sought
the sudden death of a female elephant, Mohini, the forest department is taking
preventive measure to ensure proper health of other elephants brought here from
different areas of the country to keep a guard on the tigers moving in Kerwan
and Kaliasot jungle.
Smita, which accompanied Mohini from Satpura Tiger Reserve, was also not in a
good health and she has been kept at an isolated place segregated from the
Mohini died of
Herpes and it is suspected that Smita might have got infected from the disease.
Although the forest authorities did not confirm about illness of Smita, sources
said she was ill.
