MP emerges as favourite tourist destination in world: Puar
BHOPAL: Tourism minister Tukojirao Puar said Madhya
Pradesh has carved out its special identity in the tourism sector in India and
abroad by carrying out outstanding works in the tourism sector.
He said Madhya Pradesh does not lag behind any
other state from tourism point of view. Concrete efforts have been made to
Puar was addressing a World Tourism Day function
here on Thursday. Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation vice-chairman
Santosh Jain was also present on the occasion.
The minister said infrastructure and tourism
facilities were being developed in Madhya Pradesh. Special attention has been
paid to air connectivity and road transport.
He said wide publicity was also being undertaken
at the national and international levels. Number of tourists in the state has
increased. After Bhopal, Hospitality Training Centres were also being
established at Jabalpur and Indore to ensure effective and qualitative services
to tourists, he added.
The minister said 20 more buses were being
started for new tourism destinations from this year. About Rs 50
crore would be spent on development of tourism infrastructure and facilities in
Principal Secretary Tourism SPS Parihar said every
possible effort would be made to promote tourism in the state.
Managing Director Raghavendra Singh said three
notions – awareness, infrastructure and marketing – were being followed to
promote tourism in the state.
