Bhojshala row: Cong says Hindu outfits inciting communal tension
BHOPAL: Hindu right wing leaders
are adamant to perform puja at Vagdevi temple in Bhojshala on Basant Panchmi on
Friday. On the other, the Congress has charged RSS-VHP with inciting communal
tension in Malwa region as Basant Panchmi will fall on Saturday, February 13.
However, Hindu outfits led by RSS
and VHP are not ready to believe Hindu calendar where Basant Panchmi has been
mentioned on Saturday. In the state official calendar too, Basant Panchmi has
been mentioned on Saturday but BJP and its outfits are unwilling to follow this
due to political reasons, said Congress state spokesperson KK Mishra.
He said different courts pursuing
Bhojshala dispute have clearly observed in their proceedings to follow ASI (Archaeological
Survey of India) norms and references and to maintain peace on the temple
premises. But the right wing leaders claiming to be the patrons of majority
community and VHP leaders having their hidden agenda on Bhojshala, want to mend
their own ways by provoking communal flare-up and creating law and order
situation in the region, Mishra alleged.
As VHP has demanded that Hindus
be allowed access from dawn to dusk to perform puja at the 11th century
structure, a large number of devotees have started gathering there on Thursday.
BJP organizing general secretary Arvind Menon, who was trying to convince right
wing leaders, could not reach a consensus.
It is learnt that the district
administration is trying for an amicable solution so that both community
members could be convinced and maintain peace. The administration is trying to
