Security guard found murdered at a farmhouse behind ISRO

Bhopal: A 65-year-old man was found murdered at a farmhouse, where he worked as a security guard, behind Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) on Wednesday morning. The scene of crime suggested he was murdered somewhere else and the body was dumped on the farm to make it appear murder after a loot bid. The man was murdered with a hard and blunt object.

Few suspects have been identified. There was a confusion about which police station it came under. A case was registered at Ayodhya Nagar police station after intervention of senior officials.

The man, Phool Singh, 65, who worked as the security guard and lived on a farmhouse belongs to Bhagwan Singh Rajput, 34, a resident of Narela Shankari close to Minal Residency in village Khejda of Bhopal district. Rajput said he came to know about murder of the guard through local residents after which he went there and informed cops. He said he was not present on farmhouse since Tuesday morning and had no idea what happened after that.

The almirahs in the farmhouse were found open. Besides, an axe was placed under the bed where the body was found. It was probably kept to create confusion, police said.

Dozens of empty liquor bottles were found at the farmhouse on backside of a land area being developed for religious discourse by Radha Swami. Members of the Radha Swami sect said there were liquor parties and blaring of music on Rajput's farmhouse every other day.

The farmhouse owner reportedly had relations with guard's niece. It could have triggered argument between security guard and farmhouse owner, police said.

Phool Singh hailed from Sagar district and was working on the farmhouse for past around six months. His relatives in village Khejda and family from Sagar reached the spot. They could not point any reason behind the murder.

Initially, Ayodhya Nagar and Chhola Mandir police said the spot does not come under their jurisdiction, but officials intervened and sorted out the issue.

Cops said a few people would be interrogated, including farmhouse owner Rajput, an influential farmer having other business as well. The body was not taken from the spot for autopsy till afternoon.
