The deceased teacher left behind a suicide note. Content of the note is yet not clear, Gupta said adding probe would proceed once details of the post-mortem results are received.

Chandulal had actively taken part in the agitation, sources close to the deceased said adding he had expressed anger against the state government for not doing justice with the teachers.

Devendra Patidar, a close friend of the deceased said that Chandulal was very much depressed on calling off of the teachers’ strike by their state body. From the day the strike was called off, he used to say that he would do something so that the government would listen to the demands of the teachers who are the builders of the nation in true sense.

Teachers across the state have been striking work demanding same salary for same work and single instalment payment of arrears. State government had dealt the teachers with an iron hand and with threats of suspension, forcing them to withdraw the strike.
