Four IS suspects held from Kerala airports let off
Four people, who were detained from two different airports in Kerala over their
suspected Islamic State links, have been let off after questioning.
Though various central
and state agencies jointly quizzed all four of them, they did not find anything
linking them with the dreaded terror outfit. However, the agencies will
continue their investigation, sources said.
Two of the suspects
were detained at the international airport in Thiruvananthapuram late Monday
night. They have been identified as Anas from Kilimanoor and Aromal, a native

into custody at Karipur international airport in Kozhikode on Tuesday. One of
them hails from Malappuram and the other from Kozhikode. All the four were
deported from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Earlier in the day,
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said that the suspects were being questioned
by central and state agencies. “Officials of various state and central agencies
are questioning them. They are doing the job since these four were deported
from the UAE. However, these four people do not have any case registered
against them in Kerala,” Chennithala said.
In Malappuram, two
persons were questioned two days ago over their alleged links with the Islamic
State. However, they too were let off later.
