To give better services, staff should be stress-free, says Rly CCM

Bilaspur: Chief Commercial Manager (CCM) of South East Central Railway (SECR) GD Sharma on Tuesday said that “Railway is one of the key organisations playing important role in the development of nation. Therefore, for providing better services, the employees of the Railway should be stress-free.”

While addressing a special workshop on ‘Stress Management’ held at the Railways’ North East Institute auditorium here, Sharma said that the aim of the workshop was to help Railway employees in managing stress so that it could have positive impact on Railway services.

Sharma said that stress has become one of the major problems of present day life. It was necessary that every person should be stress free for moving ahead in life. “For making services to the commuters better and smooth functioning of Railway system, this special programme over stress management has been organised”, he said.

Several key tips for dealing with stress have been given at the workshop conducted by the Divisional Commercial Department.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Rashmi Gautam said that stress management in the workplace delivers tools that are unmatched in the measured results productive for the organisation. “Changing economic times have pulled us in multiple directions. The pressures and demands between work and personal life are blurred. As a result, the consequences of stress in the workplace come from what is happening to us both on and off the job. Through highly interactive learning, the participants apply these stress management training tools to getting more of what is important to them done in less time. Organisational skills are improved so that less things fall through the cracks”, she said.

She further said that this stress management in the workplace training programme builds on the proven five steps to ‘Better Work-Life Balance’ training programme and has unmatched proven results worldwide.

Senior officers, including chief commercial manager (Passenger Services) GC Meena, deputy chief commercial manager Tanvir Hassan, deputy chief commercial manager (Coaching) KVR Murthy, chief station manager Kishore Nikhare, senior divisional operating manager Ashutosh Shrivastava, officers and employees of Commercial department were present in the workshop.
