Union Home Minister urges Maoists to shun violence
SUKMA:Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday appealed the Maoists to shun violence and asked them not to mislead youths and let them study.
Addressing a mammoth gathering at mini stadium in Sukma, the Union Home Minister said “I am surprised to know that I am the first Union Home Minister, who has visited Sukma and I feel very contented with getting an opportunity to visit this district of Chhattisgarh.” He expressed his desire to visit the district again.
On reaching the Naxal hotbed, Sukma headquarters, the Union Home Minister participated in mass marriage ceremony and blessed 201 newly married couples.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and State Home Minister Ramsewak Paikra also attended the mass marriage programme organised by Women and Child Development Department under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivaah Yojana. Rajnath
Singh inaugurated a public welfare fair and development exhibition organised to
mark the completion of a year of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
After attending various programmes in Sukma and visiting Livelihood College and
under construction Model School costing Rs 3 crore, he left for Dornapal by
helicopter. He inaugurated newly built fortified police station at Dornapal,
besides visiting a CRPF camp in the region.
