Games to be organised in naxalite affected areas of Madhya Pradesh
BHOPAL: With the
objective of providing opportunity to the sports talent of naxalite affected
areas, sports and youth welfare department of Madhya Pradesh has decided to
organise state level sports meet from March 13. Besides, department will select
talented players from naxalite affected areas to groom them for future.
According to director
sports, Upendra Jain, the department has selected 10 districts to conduct
games. These are Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Singroli, Sidhi, Umariya,
Dindori, Shahdol and Anuppur. In all, 65 blocks in these districts have been
selected to conduct games.
Games that are being
selected to be conducted are athletics, badminton, volleyball, kabaddi,
basketball, football, kho-kho, wrestling and handball.
Kabaddi, basketball and
football will be organised in Chhindwara from March 13. Mandla will host
kho-kho, wrestling and handball. Rest of the games will be organised in other

the respective academies on the basis of their merits.
