Swine flu: Three die, 52 test positive in last 48 hours in Bhopal
BHOPAL: Swine flu
continues unabated in Madhya Pradesh capital despite with three deaths being
reported on Saturday and another 52 new infections reported in the last 48
hours. District health office raised yet another alert, given the changing

temperature is expected. We are requesting all citizens to avoid exposure and
visit a doctor in case of any complications from prolonged cold and cough,”
said district chief medical and health officer Dr Veena Sinha. She said there
was an expected drop in H1N1 infections in the recent past.
Some 96 patients
suspected for H1N1 were tested in the last 24 hours. 30 of them tested positive
for the deadly influenza. Around 63 samples were sent for testing to Indian
Council of Medical Research (ICMR) laboratory on Saturday.
Three swine flu deaths
reported from Bhopal are being attributed to private hospitals. All three are
women. One patient shifted from BMHRC to Hamidia hospital on Saturday.
So far 46 H1N1 deaths
have been reported from Bhopal and some 352 have tested positive for the deadly
contagion this year.
