Goon shoots youth to death over trivial issue in Bhopal
BHOPAL: A 30-year-old man was shot dead by a goon for staring
at him on Thursday night, the third incident of murder in Aishbagh area in four
days. On February 22, a woman and her daughter were stabbed to death by the girl’s
boyfriend over paying instalment of mobile phone. The youth and his accomplice
were later nabbed.
In the fresh incident, police said the youth, Salman
Siddiqui, was allegedly murdered by Shadab Kasai, who has 27 criminal cases
against him. A case was registered at Aishbagh police station of the city and
the accused was arrested, police said.
The incident took place near Ahata Mankasha outside a
graveyard. Salman and Shadab Kasai scuffled over a trivial issue and latter
shot him in abdomen with a county-made pistol.
Salman, who got a bullet injury, slumped on a stone and
sustained injury on head. He was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him brought
dead. He died of excessive bleeding, the police added.
Though staring was the immediate trigger for crime, the
accused and the deceased were not on good terms for some time.
Shadab reportedly ran gambling and other unlawful activities
around the graveyard, which is close to the house of Salman, who would often
object to it, ultimately leading to enmity in between them.
The accused was nabbed after the crime and the pistol used in
the crime was seized. The accused reportedly told police Salman would have
stabbed him if he had he not fired at him, officials added.
Shadab was externed in the past, arrested and sent to jail
for not following his terms of externment. Six months ago, he walked out of
jail. The accused would be produced in court and taken on remand.
