Indore will be developed as global, smart and digital city: Shivraj
BHOPAL: Indore will be developed as global, smart and digital
city, said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Addressing the oath-taking
ceremony of mayor and corporators of Indore Municipal Corporation on Thursday,
Chouhan said that the city’s heritage places would be decorated and beautified.
Indore will be made a symbol of good governance. Efforts will be made to get it
included in best cities of the world.
Chouhan said that he himself would lead Swachchhata Abhiyan
at Indore on February 21. He announced Rs 5 crore for purchase of materials
needed to make Clean Indore. He said that availability of toilet in every
household at Indore will be ensured. He said that shelter will be provided to
labourers coming to the city. He asked newly elected corporators to work with
sense of responsibility like servants of people. He said that all corporators
should beautify their respective wards.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said that Prime Minister
Narendra Modi has launched Swachchhata Abhiyan. It would be implemented in
Indore effectively. She said that it is our responsibility to develop clean
Indore. She said that no paucity of funds would be allowed in Indore city’s
Urban Development and Environment Minister Kailash
Vijayvargiya and newly elected Mayor Malini Laxman Singh Gaud also spoke on the
occasion. Collector and district election officer Akash Tripathi administered
oath to newly elected Mayor Smt. Gaud and corporators. At the programme, Chief
Minister Chouhan released a booklet on Indore’s development.
