RSS will strive to unite Hindu society, says Mohan Bhagwat
KANPUR: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said his
organisation would strive to ‘unite’ the Hindu society and that it must
‘expand’ to meet the expectations of people. Bhagwat also said that RSS moves
ahead on the basis of its ‘own strength’.
“RSS’ work is to unite Hindu society, to make it
fearless, self-reliant, selfless and the one which is ready to live and die for
“Time has come when the entire society wants RSS and
has expectations from it. To fulfil those expectations the organization must
expand. No matter what caste, language or sect a person belongs to in the Sangh
we should all stand together,” Bhagwat said at a ‘Rashtra Raksha Sangam’ here.
He said that this could not be done only through
‘bhashan’. “It has to be brought into practice. What is the meaning of RSS,
shakhaa? We come together, forget everything else. Only ‘bhagwa (saffron) flag’
is in front of us which is symbol of our pride,’ he said.
Bhagwat said, “Often the word 'show of strength' crops
up. When we organize such programmes, it is said that these are show of
strength by RSS. Those who do not have strength need to show it. We don't need
to do that. We have our own strength. RSS moves ahead on the basis of its own
strength. It is our 'atma darshan’.”
The RSS leader said there was nothing new in the
ideology of the organisation. “The new thing is its method. There is so much
diversity in the country, irrespective of caste, language or regional
differences we all consider Bharat as mother. We say Bharat Mata ki jai,” he
The four-day RSS 'manthan', which will be held behind
closed doors, will discuss the organization's strategy to galvanise and
energise the cadre with elections in key states Bihar and Uttar Pradesh not
very far away.
