90-year-old woman assaulted and raped in Madhya Pradesh
BHOPAL: A 90-year-old woman was raped by her neighbour
in Jabalpur region on Sunday night. The incident took place at Jabalpur's
Gorakhpur area on Sunday night. The accused forced into her house at around

of her legs fractured while struggling to save herself from the accused who
continued thrashing her till she fainted to rape her, said police.
Accused Kukku, 52, was said to be in an inebriated
condition. He has been arrested under different sections and sent to jail. Police
said the victim was living alone in a small hut and was dependent on food that
neighbours gave her.
She was hospitalised by her neighbours who came to
know about the incident on Monday morning. Earlier, a 108-year-old bed-ridden
woman was raped by her son’s friend at home in Jabalpur town when the rest of
her family was out shopping on December 4, 2010.
Matter surfaced when a worker of the Jabalpur unit of
the Mahila Congress took up the matter with the then Madhya Pradesh director
general of police SK Raut in Bhopal.
Accused, Gopi Ahirwar, 45, a waiter in a hotel, lived
in the same locality of Sita Pahad in Jabalpur cantonment and was a regular
visitor to the victim’s home.
Ahirwar, who was drunk, bolted the door from inside.
The victim’s family rushed her a private hospital nearby but the doctors
refused admission, claiming they wouldn't be able to stop the excessive
