Botched sterilisations: Chhattisgarh to give Rs 2-lakh, free education to children of victims
RAIPUR: In a move to help the children of the women
who have lost their lives due to the botched sterilisations, Chhattisgarh
government has decided to make fixed deposit of Rs 2-lakh for each child and
also assured them free education till the age of 18.
According to a government spokesman, the state would
bear the educational expenses of all such children till they attain the age of
18 years. The government would also provide all of them with health cards for
free treatment at Apollo Hospital.
This decision was taken by the chief minister during a
meeting at his residence on Sunday. The meeting was attended by chief
secretary, Vivek Dhand and Principal Secretary health, Alok Shukla.
