Bhopal to have State Academic Staff College
BHOPAL: Bhopal will have State Academic Staff College
for faculty improvement. Proposal of a cluster university has also been sent.
For this, Rs 55 crore will be provided. Besides, training colleges will be
opened at 5 other places. These proposals were approved at a meeting of RUSA
council chaired by Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta here on Saturday.
Jabalpur Engineering College, GS Institute of
Technology & Science Indore and Government Autonomous College Shahdol are
proposed to be upgraded to universities under Rashtriya Uchhatar Shiksha
Abhiyan (RUSA). Every college will get Rs 55 crore for this.
Gupta said that autonomous colleges have been upgraded
to universities at all divisional headquarters which do not have a university.
He directed to prepare a proposal of upgradation of medical, music and

centre. He directed to undertake a study of less Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER)
colleges at Umaria, Khargone, Katni, Dindori and Singrauli and launch a special
campaign to increase GER.
