Urban body polls: 317-hour training imparted to 4,623 candidates
BHOPAL: For preparation of error-free electoral rolls
for ensuing urban body and panchayat elections, the State Election Commission
imparted training for 317 hours to 4,623 candidates from January to October 20,

In the series, the commission imparted 54 hour
training to 518 officers from October 13 to 20 where State Election
Commissioner R Parasuram apprised them about innovations being introduced in
ensuing general elections. He directed trainees from various districts to
conduct election in accordance with tips given during the training.
As many as 102 tehsildars and naib tehsildars were
imparted 5-hour training regarding preparation of photo electoral rolls on
January 29, 2014 and 15-hour training in February 2014 to 306 master trainers
of districts about functioning and operation of EVMs. In April-May, training
was imparted to Municipal Corporations’ Commissioners and Additional
As many as 502 officers were imparted 48-hour
training. In June, the commission trained 60 observers for 4 hours. In August,
16 probationary IAS officers were imparted 2-hour training. In the same month,
48-hour training was imparted to 765 master trainers at division level.
Apart from holding review meetings, the commission
also imparted training to officers at division level in September. In October,
training was imparted to 51 district e-governance managers for 3 hours.
Eight-hour training each was imparted to 51 deputy
district election officers on October 13 and additional SPs on October 14. As
many as 416 Returning and Assistant Returning Officers were imparted 36-hour
training from October 16 to 20.
