Works done in Madhya Pradesh IT sector lauded at GIS
BHOPAL: Works done in Madhya Pradesh’ information
technology sector were lauded at sectoral seminar on investment facilities in
IT, ITES, BPO and BPM during the Global Investors Summit at Indore on Friday.
At the seminar, officers of Government of India, entrepreneurs and experts
participated and suggested to make the work more efficient.
In his keynote address, Union Secretary, Information
Technology Prof RS Sharma dwelt at length on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s
Digital India campaign. He said that campaign’s objective is to ensure access
of every citizen of India to broadband connectivity. This facility will be made
available in every Panchayat in next 2 years.
About Digital Service Delivery, he informed that in it
stress has been laid on certification of identity. Every person who has a
mobile phone can avail benefit of digital facilities. There is a scheme to open
every person’s bank account under Digital India. Financial inclusion is an
important part of Digital India, he added.
Sharma informed that all certificates and documents to
be issued by Government of India will be digitised. No one will be compelled to
show copies of certificates issued by various government departments. Besides,
a person may be in any part of the country, he will get facilities there as per
eligibility. Cash payments will be minimized and electronic payments maximized.
Prof Sharma said that very good work has been done in
e-Governance sector in Madhya Pradesh still, connectivity should be given
between various applications. It is also needed that e-governance is available
on mobile phones and its applications are re-designed.
Jayjeet Bhattacharya of Partner, Infra-structure and
Government Services dwelt in detail on ESDM policies. He said that there are
immense job opportunities in electronics sector. He stressed the need to
simplify processes and increase awareness about related issues. Giving example
of several countries, he laid emphasis on better connectivity.

Industry Group congratulated Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for glorious
development of Madhya Pradesh. He said that good work has been done in Madhya
Pradesh in IT, ITES, BPO and BPM sectors. He said that he has to given only one
suggestions that all government facilities and processes should be digitised
before next Global Investors Summit. He informed that android phones are now
being widely used in rural areas. Therefore, we need to move towards
Sanjay Mehta of Teli Performance India said that his
company is giving BPO services in the state since year 2007. The state
government is very sensitive. He informed that large number of employees in
company are from small cities and are below 25 years of age. Stressing need for
training facility in the sector, he suggested to give training subsidy.
