Van Vihar’s lioness Lily dies from snakebite
lioness named ‘Lily’ died from snakebite at Van Vihar national park on Tuesday
morning. Lily was brought from Jaipur zoo in 2006, when she was eight.
Lily stayed at
Van Vihar National Park for more than six years. She was kept in the display
centre, in the mid of Van Vihar, where she was the centre of attraction amongst
live between 14 and 15 years.
The post-mortem report termed
snakebite as the prima facie cause of Lily’s death. She was later cremated. Her
internal organs have been sent to various laboratories for investigation.
