Chouhan appeals to ‘Make clean India, clean Madhya Pradesh’
BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Madhya Pradesh from Chhola Dussehra Maidan and nearby
localities of Shiv Nagar and Navjeevan Colony here on Thursday.
Appealing to ensure sanitation, Chouhan said that “God
dwells where sanitation is. Sanitation is necessary for beauty, happiness and
prosperity. It keeps us physically fit. With this in view, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi has shown India path of health and prosperity by launching Swachh Bharat
He said that sanitation is everyone’s programme and
all should undertake it unitedly. India and Madhya Pradesh will have to be made
clean if India is to be re-built. People should make the beginning of
sanitation from their houses, localities, villages and cities. One should keep
himself clean, take a bath daily and take meals only after washing hands.
He informed that lakhs of children in Madhya Pradesh
will wash their hands and give message of sanitation on October 15. He urged
people to spare minimum 2 hours a week for sanitation. He administered oath of
sanitation to those present on the occasion.
Mayor Krishna Gaur read out message of the Prime
Minister. At the outset, local MLA Vishwas Sarang delivered the welcome
address. He urged people to cooperate in this constructive programme. MP Alok
Sanjar, local corporator Mamta Tiwari, Alok Sharma, Principal Secretary SN
Mishra, Divisional Commissioner SB Singh and large number of public
representatives and people were present on the occasion.
