Child Line rescues two minor girls in Chhattisgarh
RAIPUR: Child Line officials on Wednesday evening
rescued two minor girls, who were allegedly being tortured by their stepmother,
and admitted them to Dr BR Ambedkar hospital with injuries. The police have
detained the father of the girls and are on the lookout for their stepmother.
According to doctors, one of girls had burn marks on
her back and injuries around left eye and left hand. The other girl has no mark
of injuries. According to officials, after being discharged from the hospital
the girls would be produced before the Child Welfare Committee, which would
then decide the future course of their custody and stay.
According to the police, the girls were residing at
Kabir Nagar with their step mother, who hails from Meerut. The neighbours
brought their plight to the notice of the Child Helpline officials, who later

were informed that the stepmother of these girls was torturing them physically
and mentally. Once the information was confirmed, a rescue was organised, said

When the Child Helpline officials, along with the
police, raided their house the stepmother was reportedly away. However their
