Chhattisgarh getting ready for national youth fest, junior world cup hockey
RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh is getting ready for organising
national youth festival 2015-16 and junior world cup hockey competition in
2016-17, in the state. Decision on these events has been taken at the review
meeting of Sports and Youth Welfare Department presided over by chief minister
Raman Singh here on Saturday.
The chief minister told the officers to send proposal
to this effect immediately to the Central government. He instructed to hold a
massive state-level kabaddi competition, through which rural players would get
the opportunity to come forward.
Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, additional chief
secretaries DS Mishra and N Baijendra Kumar, principal secretary to the chief
minister, Aman Kumar Singh, secretary sports Dinesh Shrivastava, commissioner
sports Ashok Juneja, director Urban Development department Rohit Yadav,
executive member of Indian Olympic Association Vikram Sisodia and officers of
sports and youth welfare department were present.
While reviewing the Yuva Bharat Darshan Yojana, the
chief minister said that youths should visit such areas, cities and states of
the country which have made good progress in agriculture, industry and
information technology sectors, where they could get experience and knowledge
and which would be helpful for them in employment and profession also. Singh
asked officers to prepare a detailed action plan of this scheme after holding
discussion with subject specialists.
The chief minister directed the officers to organise a
tour programme for the youths under Yuva Bharat Darshan Yojana to visit Bastar
and Sarguja region, coal mines area, Bhilai Steel Plant, State capital, poultry
and dairy industry, hybrid agriculture farms and cities like Bangaluru.
preparations for organising the proposed 37th national sports in
Chhattisgarh in November 2017, the chief minister directed the officers to
speed up development of sports infrastructure. To bring forward sports talents
of rural areas, he instructed the officers to organise school, block, district
and state level sports competitions. Excellent players selected through these
sports competitions in selected sports categories should be imparted training
at national level and make them ready for national and international level
competitions, he added.
