Large delegation from UK to participate in Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit
BHOPAL: A large trade delegation from United Kingdom
will participate in the Global Investors’ Summit scheduled at Indore in Madhya
Pradesh in the first week of October 2014. This was informed by Deputy Prime
Minister of United Kingdom Nicholas Clegg to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj
Singh Chouhan, who paid a courtesy visit to the former at Bangalore on
Clegg said that he was aware of the growth story of
Madhya Pradesh. He remarked that Madhya Pradesh has done the right thing to
attach top priority to agriculture growth in its development strategy.
Industries Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Chief Secretary Anthony de Sa
were also present.
Chouhan informed the Deputy Prime Minister that
business delegates and reputed companies from across the world have consented
to attend the Global Investors’ Summit. He informed that about 3,000
representatives of industries from 20 countries are expected to participate in
Chouhan referred to Indo-British historical ties and
said that there exist immense opportunities of trade. Clegg appreciated the
initiative and assured enthusiastic representation of United Kingdom.
Chouhan, apprising the Deputy Prime Minister of
strides of Madhya Pradesh in key sectors of economy, said that intensive
efforts were being made at make Madhya Pradesh a Global Investment Hub.
Chouhan informed that focus of the Global Investors’
Summit is on agribusiness, food processing pharmaceuticals, health care, urban
development, and infrastructure development, IT and ITEs, technical education,
skill development, renewable energy, textile and handloom, tourism and
hospitality and automobile and engineering sectors.
