Union minister will launch Jan-Dhan Yojana in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: Union Minister of State for Minerals, Steel and Labour Vishnudev Sai will launch “Pradhanmantri Jan-Dhan Yojana” for Chhattisgarh in Raipur on August 28. The inaugural function will be held at Naveen Vishram Bhawan situated at Civil Lines here at 4 in the evening.

Chhattisgarh’s health and urban administration minister Amar Agrawal will preside over the function. MP Ramesh Bais, Rajya Sabha member Dr Bhushanlal Jangade, MLAs Satyanarayan Sharma, Devji Bhai Patel, Dhanendra Sahu, Srichand Sundarani and Navin Markandeya, mayor Raipur Municipal Corporation Kiranmayi Nayak and president Raipur district panchayat Laxmi Verma will be present as special guests. The programme will be organised jointly by the Directorate of Institutional Finance Chhattisgarh and the State Level Bankers Committee.

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would launch this scheme at national level at a function organised at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi on August 28 at 4 pm. 

On this line, as per the instructions received from the Central Government, this scheme will be launched in Chhattisgarh on the same day and time - at state level in Raipur and district level at all district headquarters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort on I-Day had made declaration of this scheme.

Chhattisgarh government, in a circular issued to all collectors, has instructed them to organise inaugural function of this scheme. In the circular issued by the Finance and Planning Department, it has been said that district in-charge ministers, MPs, MLAs and other people’s representatives should necessarily be invited for the district-level programmes.

Literacy and financial inclusion related programmes should be included in these functions. According to the Prime Minister, with the opening of bank account of each family, they would get loan, savings and other necessary facilities related to banks easily.
