MP farmers will get Rs 2,187 cr under National Agriculture Insurance Scheme
BHOPAL: Claims of Rs 2,187 crore have been sanctioned
for 14.21 lakh farmers of Madhya Pradesh under National Agriculture Insurance
Scheme. With the efforts of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, farmers will

The insurance amounts will be deposited in farmers’
bank accounts within 15 days. This amount of insurance has been received as a
result of constant efforts of the state government and farmers’ awareness
Since launch of the scheme in 1999 till year 2013 only
Rs 2000 crore was paid under the insurance scheme whereas now Rs 2,187 crore is
being paid under Kharif-2013. Under the scheme, all farmers whose Kharif crops
had suffered damage will be paid insurance amounts.
Maximum Rs 296.5 crore will be paid to farmers of
Hoshangabad district, Sehore Rs 296.5 crore, Harda Rs 208.21 crore, Dewas Rs
161.53 crore, Sagar Rs 144.92 crore, Raisen Rs 154.48 crore. Rajgarh Rs 154.23
crore, Ujjain Rs 147.64 crore, Shajapur Rs 95.20 crore, Betul Rs 1.60 crore and
Rs 53.5 crore will be paid to farmers of Guna district.
The state government had provided immediate relief to
farmers in the event of calamity. From its own resources, the state government
had provided over Rs 2000 crore relief to affected farmers as compensation
against losses to crops.
