Chhattisgarh’s public hearing system draws attention of Madhya Pradesh
RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh is the first and only state in
the country, where hearing of public problems and their disposal is being done
through video conferencing system, under the leadership of chief minister Raman
Singh. This hi-tech system of the state has drawn the attention of its
neighbour and former state Madhya Pradesh.
Additional secretary, Madhya Pradesh government,
Public Grievances Redressal Department, Tabassum Zaidi and under secretary
Padma Lokhande on Monday perused the hearing of applicants under this system at
Raipur. These officers are on a four-day study tour for the perusal of
different online services being provided by Chhattisgarh government to common
people by using information technology. Today was the third day of their tour.
On the first two days, these officers have reviewed
computerisation of public distribution system, computerisation of land records
and Gram Suraj under the Bhuinya programme of revenue department and process of
computerisation and disposal of Jandarshan applications at the National
Informatics Centre, Raipur.
On Monday, officers of Public Grievances Redressal
Department, in the presence of the study team, held hearing of different issues
of applicants present at NICs in different districts. In-charge officer of
Public Grievances Redressal Cell, KM Agrawal told the officers of Madhya
Pradesh that public hearing through video conferencing has been done on each
government working day. Date and time for this programme has been decided for
different districts. Applicants on the appointed date reach the video
conferencing hall of NIC located at collectorate and discuss their problems
with the officers in Raipur.
The visiting officers of Madhya Pradesh government
will also see the working system of the toll free number Nidan 1100 established
for the solution of sanitation and drinking water problems of municipal
corporations, health service toll free number 104 set up for providing free medical
advice to citizens and the toll free number 1912 set up for disposal of
electricity problems. On Tuesday, they will peruse different proforma and other
records of Public Grievances Redressal Department office at Mantralaya Raipur.
