Chouhan for police welfare schemes, honours President Medal winners
BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh
Chouhan on Friday honoured President Medal winner police officers at his
residence. Referring to police officers’ difficult duties and discharge of
important responsibilities by them, Chouhan said that law and order is
prevailing because of police personnel’s alertness.
He directed Director General of Police to chalk out
welfare schemes for police officers and employees, especially for higher
education of their children.
The Chief Minister said that maintenance of law &
order is important for both development and interest of common people. Madhya
Pradesh police had done commendable service for maintaining law and order in
the state. He said that public participation has also been given importance in
Madhya Pradesh to maintain law and order.
Immediate action is taken to close any liquor shop on
women’s complaint. No new liquor shop has been opened in the state during last
3-4 years. He urged the police administration to ensure effective action
against drug and narcotics peddlers like they had eradicated dacoity menace
from Chambal region.
