CBI raids cement company in Madhya Pradesh in coal scam
BHOPAL: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on
Thursday registered case against the promoters of a Madhya Pradesh based cement
company - Revati Cement - in connection with alleged irregularities in the
allocation of coal blocks to it and carried out simultaneous raids on their
official and residential premises at Indore and Satna district.
FIR has been registered against Revati Cement
promoters Umesh Shara and Kailash Shara, along with company's director Chinmay
Palekar. This is the 23rd FIR in the case related to allocation of coal blocks,
CBI spokesperson told TOI.
Besides charging the company authorities with criminal
conspiracy and criminal misconduct, CBI has also booked the members of 36th
Screening Committee of the government and unknown others for allocating the
Thesgora B/ Rudrapuri coal block to the company.
The government officials have been charged with
abusing their official positions.
