Singapore envoy keen to invest in Madhya Pradesh
Consul-General Li Chung Ying Lin on Tuesday said that Singapore is interested
in investment in skill development, tourism and infrastructure sectors.
During a formal
meeting held at Mantralaya, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said Madhya
Pradesh has emerged as an ideal state for capital investment. Several major
companies of India and the world have evinced keen interest in investment.
Minister said Singapore has close ties with India and wish that Singapore
becomes partner country in Global Investors’ Summit proposed to be held from
October 28 at Indore. He hoped that a large delegation of entrepreneurs from
Singapore will participate in the Investors’ Summit. He said that the State
Government is going to establish a vocational university in Madhya Pradesh.
Skill Development Mission is being operated in the state through which youths
are being trained to work in industries. There is immense eco-tourism potential
in the state. Besides, tourism activities can also be run by developing
historic sites as tourist destinations.
Li said that a
MoU has been signed by Singapore with the Central Government for skill
development at the national level. Under it, work in skill development sector
can be done in Madhya Pradesh also. He said that vocational university can make
trained human resources available to industries. He lauded natural and forest
wealth of the state. He said that Singapore can extend special cooperation in
