Inter-state power banking should be undertaken in Madhya Pradesh
Minister Rajendra Shukla has said that inter-state power banking in rainy
season should be undertaken in a planned way. It should also be constantly
monitored. Shukla reviewed availability and supply of power at a meeting of
power company officers at Jabalpur on Monday.
Shukla said that
round-the-clock power supply should be ensured in view of rains. Stressing the
need for better power banking arrangements during rainy season, he said that
this will help in availability of power for agriculture works during ensuing
Rabi season. Reviewing coal storage situation, the Energy Minister said that
its proper arrangement will also benefit in Rabi season.
Shukla directed power companies to make additional efforts to increase revenue.
He undertook intense review of power supply, revenue, coal availability, power
supply during rainy season etc.
Management Company’s MD Manu Shrivastava apprised Energy Minister Shukla about
various activities. MD of MP Power Generating Company Vijendra Nanawati
informed about coal supply and power generation situation. Transmission
Company’s Director SK Ganesh and in-charge MD of Madhya Pradesh Eastern Region
Power Distribution Company BP Shrivastava were also present on the occasion.
