Country needs education teamed with good culture, moral value: Raman Singh

RAIPUR: Education teemed with good culture and moral value is the biggest need of the country today. Institutions like Saraswati Shishu Mandir are doing this work brilliantly within their limited resources, said chief minister Dr Raman Singh.

The chief minister, at the silver jubilee function of Saraswati Shishu Mandir Higher Secondary School Dongargarh in Rajnandgaon district here on Sunday dedicated the new room ‘Keshav Bhawan’ on the school premises. The chief minister declared sanction of Rs 10 lakh from discretionary grant fund for expansion of academic activities of the institution.

MP Abhishek Singh, local MLA Sarojini Banjare, peoples’ representatives, office-bearers of various institutions and large number of citizens were present. The chief guest, Dr Raman Singh honoured the meritorious students of the school.

In another brief programme in Dongargarh, the chief minister dedicated a 50-seat pre-metric tribal girls’ hostel building constructed with a cost of Rs 69 lakh by the state government.

Addressing the silver jubilee function, chief minister Raman Singh said that education should be such that could instill feeling of nationality in the children of the country. Job-oriented education is also must, but that should strengthen the feeling of responsibility of the new generation towards the country and the society. In this perspective the working style of Saraswati Shishu Mandir was definitely commendable, he added.

Addressing the function, MP from Rajnandgaon Abhishek Singh said that it was a matter of proud that he had his school education from the Saraswati Shishu Mandir. Today he got the opportunity to attend the silver jubilee function of the school also. Singh assured all possible cooperation to the institution. MLA Sarojini Banjare also addressed the function.

Presiding over the function, Ramdutt Chakradhar said that for the first time, Saraswati Shishu Mandir was established in Gorakhpur in 1952 to give good education to children on the foundation of Indian culture. Today the institution provides education to lakhs of children throughout the country, he added.
