Raman Singh gifts one more sugar factory to Kabirdham
RAIPUR: One more
sugar factory will be established in the cooperative sector in Kabirdham, the
indication of which was given by chief minister Dr Raman Singh at a massive
farmers’ convocation organised in Kawardha on Wednesday. This will be the
fourth sugar mill in the state.
farmers, the chief minister said that the state government has been taking
every possible measure to promote agriculture-based industries on top priority,
which would increase the income of farmers.
In view of the increase
in the sugarcane cultivation area and record production in Kabirdham, the state
government would seriously consider the demand of peoples’ representatives of
establishment of one more sugar factory in the cooperative sector in the
district, he said.
On the demand made
by MP Abhishek Singh and Pandariya MLA Motiram Chandravanshi for one more sugar
factory, besides the Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory in Kabirdham district,
the chief minister said that the demand is proper in the interest of farmers.
On the occasion, Dr
Singh gifted Rs 29.34 crore development and construction works to the people of
the district, including 50 seat hostel building of Industrial Training
Institute, district trade and industry centre building and Kawardha indoor
The chief minister
performed bhumi pujan and land foundation stone for government Fisheries
College at Sevai Kachhar village costing Rs 23.23 crore and district panchayat
resource centre building costing Rs 2.34 crore at Maharajpur village.
The chief minister
blessed the local children admitted in school under the School Admission
Festival and distributed sweets to them. Under different grant schemes of the
agriculture department, he distributed irrigation pumps costing Rs 18.26 lakh,
modern agriculture implements and hybrid seeds of paddy and maize to 172
Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory Raghuraj Singh, working president of
District Panchayat Videshi Ram Dhurve, former chairman of State Youth
Commission Santosh Pandey, peoples’ representatives, office-bearers of various
institutions and farmers in thousands were present on the occasion.
