Three labourers, including two women killed, 5 injured in Budhni wall collapse

BHOPAL: Three labourers, including two women were killed and five others suffered injuries after an under-construction wall caved in at Budhni in Sehore district on Sunday.

Police have booked three persons who hired the workers for construction of the wall under section 304 A (causing death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide).

The incident took place when an under-construction side wall of a drainage collapsed. Those killed are Seema Gaud (18), Lalita Gaud (18) and Mithilesh Gaud (18). All are residents of Betul district, said police.

“Five others, who were injured and taken to Hoshangabad for treatment and their condition is out of danger,” sub-divisional officer of police, Budhni, Ranvijay Singh Kushwaha said.

“Prime facie it was found that three people all residents of Budhni namely Praveen Chouhan, Anil Verma and Ram Swaroop Nagar hired those workers and a case have been registered against them,” he said.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh who was in the district for poll campaigning demanded probe and alleged that the incident took place due to inferior quality of materials which were being used for construction.
