Lok Rang a unique festival of culture, art and traditions: Governor Yadav
greetings to state’s people at Lok Rang Festival held on Republic Day, Governor
Ram Naresh Yadav said that it was a unique event in the country. After seeing
troupes and artists from various states in their states’ attires and presenting
glimpses of their cultures, it seems that entire India is present at the venue.
Governor Yadav inaugurated Lok Rang Festival by lighting a lamp.
Yadav hoped that
this forum will cement communal harmony and help disseminate sprit of
“Vasudhaiv Kutumbamak” in every nook and corner of the world. Through it, the
generation next is introduced with their moral values and culture.
He said that it
is the true display of Indian philosophy. Unity in diversity is our country’s
culture. It is the true heritage of the country. It is the duty of all fellow
countrymen to preserve and promote this spirit, he added.
On the occasion,
Governor Yadav felicitated various dignitaries of the country with National
Awards for year 2009-10. National Maithilisharan Gupta Samman was conferred to
Dr Narendra Kohli (New Delhi), National Iqbal Samman to Dr Chandrabhan Khayal
(New Delhi), Tulsi Samman to Baba Jairam Das Vyas (Ayodhya) and Devi Ahiliya
Samman was conferred on Sarbjeet Kaur Sharma (Jalandhar).
armed forces who took part in Republic Day parade at Lal Parade Ground here
were also felicitated on the occasion. Among armed forces, RAF was given the
first prize, CISF second and Hawk Force was given third prize.
paramilitary forces, the first prize was given to contingents of ex-servicemen
and Sports Department, second to NCC Naval Wing and the third prize was given
to NCC Army Wing Girls. Among tableaux, the first prize was given away to
Sports & Youth Welfare Department, second to Social Justice Department and
third prize was given away to Jail Department.
