Complete tourism-related works soon; Gaur tells officers
Administration & Development Minister Babulal Gaur has directed the
officers concerned to complete tourism-related works at the earliest. He laid
emphasis on the need for developing tourist spots further to increase
chairing a meeting over beautification of Hathaikhera and Shahpura lakes here on
Thursday. Secretary Urban Administration SN Mishra, Commissioner Urban
Administration Sanjay Shukla, Managing Director of Tourism Development Corporation
Raghavendra Singh and Collector Nishant Warwade also attended the meeting.
said that apart from environmental conservation, better tourist facilities could
also be provided to citizens at Bhopal. He informed that 10 thousand saplings
have been planted around Hathaikhera dam. He directed district administration
to redress land-related disputes quickly.
It was informed
at the meeting that Tourism Development Corporation has given consent to
undertake Rs 50 lakh works for providing tourism facility to citizens at
Hathaikhera dam. Here, cafeteria and boating facility will be developed.
Commissioner Vishesh Garhpale informed that Hathaikhera and Shahpura lakes are
included in the scheme to beautify 10 lakes of Bhopal city. A Rs. 216 crore
scheme has been chalked out with cooperation of Japan International Corporation
(JAIKA) for beautification of 10 lakes. For this, Bhopal Municipal Corporation
has appointed a consultant.
At the meeting,
discussions were held to further develop Hathaikhera and Shahpura lakes from
tourism viewpoint. It is informed that a floating restaurant is being developed
in Shahpura lake.
Security at hostels
directed officers of the department and district administration to lay down
norms for security of girls’ and boys’ hostels in the city. Suggestions
regarding it can be given by citizens within 3 weeks before finalising security
