MP’s unexplored heritage sites need to bring on tourism map: Minister
BHOPAL: On the occasion
of 35th Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation,
Minister of State for Tourism & Sports Brijendra Pratap Singh said that
awards and prizes inspire to do better work.
He said that Madhya
Pradesh is the state with diverse hues of tourism. Development works costing
about Rs 206 crore are underway in the state to promote tourism and expand
tourist facilities. Principal Secretary Tourism SPS Parihar and other
departmental officers and employees were also present on the occasion.
Brijendra Pratap Singh
said that Madhya Pradesh has a lot of unexplored heritage sites, which need to
be brought on the tourism map. Lauding efforts of the corporation, Singh said
that Madhya Pradesh will be best tourism state in the country shortly.
State Tourism Development
Corporation Chairman Dr Mohan Yadav said that Tourism is a department connected
with Indian culture and civilization. Playing significant role, the corporation
has established a distinct identity of Madhya Pradesh in the country.
Throwing light on State
Tourism Development Corporation, its Managing Director Raghavendra Singh
informed that the 4th advertisement of the corporation has received about 93
thousand hits. Number of tourists in the state has increased by 20 percent. Singh
informed that the Union Government has sanctioned Rs 50 crore for development
of tourist places in and around Bhopal.
On the occasion, people
were felicitated for outstanding contribution in tourism sector. The awards
were given in various categories.
