MP becomes pioneer in full utilisation of Central funds in tourism sector

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country, which has fully utilised Central funds in tourism sector. Lauding tourism activities being carried out in the state, the Union Tourism Department has said that funds allocated to Madhya Pradesh under 11th Plan were fully utilised.

Development works have been carried out in tourist destinations in Vidisha, Shivpuri, Burhanpur, Datia, Indira Sagar, Mandsaur, Handia, Betul, Chitrakoot etc. to attract tourists there following which rise in the number of domestic and foreign tourists has been registered. In the series, the Tourism Department is developing new tourist destinations in the state.
