Four ‘mega circuit’ tourism projects identified in MP

BHOPAL: Four ‘mega circuit’ projects have been identified in Madhya Pradesh. These are Orchha-Gwalior-Shivpuri-Khajuraho, Indore-Ujjain-Omkareshwar-Maheshwar-Mandu circuit, Jabalpur-Bhedaghat-Mandla-Kanha-Bandhavgarh-Amarkantak and Bhopal-Sanchi-Bhojpur-Bhim Bethka-Pachmarhi.

Among four circuits identified the 410-km-long Gwalior-Orchha-Shivpuri-Khajuraho will be the priority circuit. Among these circuits destinations work of Orchha will be carried out. The works for Rs 6,474 lakh Orchha circuit project include welcome arch at Tighela (Jhansi-Khajuraho T-point), informatory signs to indicate ways and distances upto the city, conservation of 7 historic heritage buildings, development of budget hotels, expansion of Kanchan Ghat, use of incinerators for solid waste management, strengthening of existing roads leading to Jahangir Fort, development of tourist facilities at Sunset Point etc.

In the same series, works will also be undertaken to develop Khajuraho approach road, hospitality and skill development institution, development of Dantala under MICE tourism, Khajuraho cultural village & Kunti dam, Raneh waterfall etc. Similarly, under mega circuit project development in Gwalior, Baija and Katora tanks will be developed. Development of heritage buildings like Maharajwada, Gwalior fort and Tansen ka Maqbara will also be undertaken. Under Shivpuri project, development and upgradation of Bhadiya Kunda, Sankhya Sagar and Madhav National Park have been included.
